Chris Ortloff, 61, of the Platssburgh area of New York state, was arrested last night at a motel where he allegedly had gone to have sex with a child he met on the Internet. Unfortunately for Ortloff, he met the New York State Police instead.
He is facing state charges, and could be charged federally. He retired from the legislature in 2006 after serving ten terms.
According to WCAX.com, “He was known for wanting to increase penalties for people charged with sex crimes.” Ortloff currently sits on the state parole board.
