Utah ICAC task force sees 90% increase in child sexual assault image cases year-over-year
July 23, 2009Even Captain Rhett McQuiston, Commander of the Utah Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force is surprised by the huge explosion of child sexual predation and assault image cases this year in Utah. According to KSL Newsradio, McQuiston says he doesn’t think these crimes are going away. “I do believe that the next six months are going to be even busier than our first six months.”
Like other state agencies, the ICAC task force has seen its budget cut, prompting it to do more with less. ICAC has benefited from recent private donations from foundations to keep its operations going. Since government funding resources do not cover the whole cost of operating the task force, Utah ICAC needs your help to keep operating. Please donate whatever you can to help Utah’s ICAC take predators off the streets. Check out their request here.
