Western Michigan ICAC Nabs Man with Forensic Machine Donated by Amway

Leonard Glen Overmyer III, 44, of Cedar Springs, Michigan was arrested in June and indicted on September 17 on six federal counts of transporting child pornography and two counts of possessing child pornography.  The Western Michigan Internet Crimes Against Children task force’s Grand Rapids sub-unit discovered this local predator after 43 tips were lodged with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline.  State police Lt. Tom Kish said the task force “took aggressive steps to identify and arrest the individual responsible for such significant efforts to exploit children,” according to WOOD TV8.

Key to Overmyer’s arrest was the use of a mobile forensic unit donated by the Amway Corporation (parent company Alticor).   Amway has been a critical partner to Innocent Justice and the Western Michigan ICAC in their overwhelming job of keeping children safe.  Dozens or even hundreds of children may be rescued and many will never experience sexual abuse because of this critical donation.  You too can make a difference in your community by helping police get the tools they need to take predators off the streets.
