The Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, whose jurisdiction covers Napa, Sonoma, Marin, Contra Costa, Alameda, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito counties, launched a child pornography sweep yesterday that has led to four arrests already.
“Each arrestee was in possession of multiple images or videos of pornography involving prepubescent children,” said San Jose police officer Jose Garcia. “The actual number of images will not be known until a full forensic examination is completed.”
Authorities said the arrest operation was still under way, and at that time sheriff’s officials said they were going through all of the evidence seized.
According to officials, Joshua Horton, 22, of Marina, Hector Martinez, 24, of Salina, and Trevor Fay, 21, of Salinas were booked into Monterey County Jail and bail was set at $15,000 for each; a 31-year-old Seaside man was also arrested.
Monterey County sheriff’s investigators said anyone with information can call the tip line at 888-833-4847.
