Former Teacher Sentenced for Child Sexual Abuse Images in Vermont

A friend borrowed Matthew Brooks’ computer and found child porn. Brooks admitted to trading porn images with collectors. He has been sentenced for five years in jail. He is also pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a minor in Coos County, NH, in a case in which he will be sentenced later this month. According to WCAX News, police say Broooks used to teach at Pittsburgh High School in New Hampshire.

Teacher Sentenced to 153 Years in Prison for Sexual Assualt

Doug Heuer, superintendent of Cleveland Heights-University Heights schools says “We are relieved that the justice system worked and that this criminal will never again be allowed in our community or have the opportunity to work with children again.” The forensic evidence uncovered by Ohio’s ICAC Task Forces facilitated this child predator’s sentencing. According to the Sun News, Judge Shirley Strickland Saffold found Christopher Thomas, former middle school teacher, guilty of one count of sexual battery, 22 counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, seven counts of importuning (sending emails or texts to ask someone to perform a sexual act), and six counts of endangering children and one count of possessing criminal tools.

Foster Parent Sent to Prison for 25 years for Child Sexual Abuse Images, Child Sued using Masha’s Law

Gregg Larsen abused the trust placed in him by abusing the children in his foster care. This former school teacher and foster-care provider was sentenced to 25 years in prison. He was creating child pornography using the children in his foster care. These children are able to sue using a little-used federal statute called Masha’s Law, which gives children the right to sue anyone who produces, distributes, or possesses their pornographic images.
