The Elmhurst Police Department has critical needs:
Recently a firefighter and high school athletic coach came to Elmhurst with the intention of having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl. If the Elmhurst Police Department had not intercepted this predator, he could have spent decades violating Chicagoland children. Even a small, idyllic, suburban department like Elmhurst must deal with 50-75 cases of child sexual assault and predation each year. Without their own computer forensic equipment, they are forced by forensic lab backlogs to wait months for evidence to take child molesters off the streets and keep local children safe. With computer forensic equipment, they can quickly remove predators in their town and help surrounding law enforcement agencies do the same.
Request: On behalf of the Elmhurst Police Department we are requesting an upgraded FRED (Forensic Recovery of Evidence Device). This forensic supercomputer will allow Elmhurst to eliminate forensic wait times and rescue local children more quickly.
Costs: $6,399 for the FRED.
Any amount will help. Please donate any amount to help Elmhurst Police Department and other agencies in DuPage County rescue local children.
