Local ICAC Team Is In Need
The Innocent Justice Foundation Says You Can Help

What better present can you give a child for the holidays than the gift of being saved from a child predator? There is an epidemic of child sexual abuse that can be stopped by local law enforcement right now but they need the support of the community. The western Michigan ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) task force is in need of tools to stop child predators from harming children and protect kids from future assault. You
can help save a child this holiday season.

A Center for Disease Control study shows that 21% of American children are sexually abused. Fortunately, ICAC teams can track down predators and rescue local children, sending predators to jail for long periods of time. However, ICAC teams are overwhelmed, and only have the resources to investigate a small fraction of these crimes.

We can change that. Today the Innocent Justice Foundation is launching the Gift for Children campaign. The Foundation has already raised over $12,000 for 3 mobile forensic units for the western Michigan ICAC team based in Grand Rapids and serving Kent and 11 other counties. Now we only need 9 more units that will be used to save children from predators. The Innocent Justice Foundation is asking the community to go to http://www.innocentjustice.org/content/western_michigan.cfm and make a tax deductible donation to save a child. No amount is too little to help us reach our goal.

Local law enforcement and Innocent Justice representatives are available for interviews up on request.
