Eastern Michigan Internet Crimes Against Children task force

The eastern Michigan ICAC is based in Livonia and is responsible for 12 counties in eastern Michigan and 5 million people. A forensic supercomputer purchased in 2004 had become obsolete and the team was in desperate need of a new one and other forensic lab equipment. Through the generous donations of the Michigan State Bar Foundation, Compuware, Universal Fire & Casualty, the James and Lynelle Holden Fund, and individual members of the Michigan Council of Private Investigators and ASIS security professionals, we were able to purchase the team all requested items, including a deluxe forensic supercomputer. The lead detective expresses his gratitude to the community, “I must thank you again for all that you have done and continue to do for the Michigan ICAC Task Force, Livonia Police Department and I. It is only through your efforts that we have the new equipment needed to help us in our mission of protecting children against these terrible crimes involving computers and digital media devices.”
