S.B. 1738 has passed in the Senate, authorizing the increase of federal funding of Internet Crimes Against Children Task Forces from $17 million annually to $60 million. By 2015 the bill authorizes up to $100 million per year. This will help increase the ability of ICAC teams to investigate known child predators. Currently only 2% of known predators are being investigated due to lack of resources, while child sexual abuse image crimes are exploding year over year.
