Franklin ICAC Task Force Bags Local Predator Poaching Wireless

Showing incredibly high level of coordination and partnership between agencies, the Tennesse Bureau of Investigations arrested Gary Olivas, 60, of Clarksville, Tennessee, last week after an undercover operation by the Franklin Internet Crimes Against Children task force found he was trading in images of child sexual abuse.  Olivas was poaching on an unsecured wireless network in his area to download these images – forensic analysts have found over 1,700 images so far, and the forensic exam is not finished yet.

According to the government press release, “the fact that Olivas was using a third party’s unsecured wireless access point to download images of children being victimized highlights the danger to citizens of failing to secure their wireless networks.”

Please help Franklin’s ICAC continue their work of rescuing local children from abuse and taking child sex predators out of Middle Tennessee neighborhoods.
