The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Teams become better funded and start to receive access to the needed technology and equipment. ICAC Task Force Commanders tell us the bigger need is for mental health and wellness support.

The Innocent Justice Foundation partners with the Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Commanders, and leading mental health experts in the child sexual abuse field to develop and provide one of the first comprehensive and foundational training programs in the United States to address and mitigate vicarious trauma.

OJDDP Grant – TIJF celebrates 10 years of providing the SHIFT program to Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Teams and their affiliates across the country.

The Motorola Solutions Foundation provides a grant to develop a wellness program to mitigate vicarious trauma that will support community heroes who may be exposed to the effects of vicarious trauma and stress. HART – Helping Advocates Rebound from Trauma is born.

2019

2020

The COVID19 Crisis slows the deployment of the first HART workshops, but we start developing an interest list to reach up to 400 victim services and allied professionals in the San Diego County area, and create a plan to move forward.

The Motorola Solutions Foundation continues to support the growth of the program and provides a second grant for HART – Helping Advocates Rebound from Trauma.

The Innocent Justice Foundation is an amazing organization that continues to help thousands of people involved in the criminal justice system. I have been in law enforcement for 33 years and 6 years in the military. This is something we all need, and The Innocent Justice Foundation has the answer. This program addresses many needs of the investigators and allows for a healthy professional so they can address the community’s needs. We must have the best for our staff so they can do the hard work needed to keep our children safe. This is a blessing for everyone involved in the sexual exploitation of children and crimes against persons.

Our programs are here to help, because losing any professional to burn-out, severe depression, substance abuse or suicide is unnecessary, tragic, and preventable.
This is why we do what we do.
